Amy Smith is the Director of Strategic Capabilities within Global Security at General Mills, where she leads key programs including Business Continuity, Physical Security, Threat Intelligence, and Workplace Violence Prevention. Her work focuses on developing and executing integrated strategies and solutions that enhance organizational resilience and protect General Mills’ global workforce, facilities, and operations.

Collaborating closely with regional security leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners, Amy ensures General Mills’ security framework remains agile and responsive to evolving risks and industry standards.

With more than 25 years of experience at General Mills, Amy combines deep organizational insight with proven leadership. She played a critical role in building and launching General Mills’ Cyber Security program and team early in her tenure. More recently, as Senior Manager of Physical Security, she led initiatives that strengthened facility protection and risk mitigation, delivering measurable improvements in site security and operational continuity.

Amy began her career in marketing, supporting General Mills’ International Segment, before transitioning to the Digital & Technology organization. There, she spent 15 years advancing through leadership roles, driving strategic initiatives that fueled enterprise-wide innovation and transformation.
