I’m a Minnesota native, who has always had a strong interest in fairness and housing accessibility. I earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law. My education and legal background as a law clerk and attorney provided a strong foundation for me to explore a number of different roles in my career, including diverse positions at an agency that emphasize housing accessibility. I have been at my agency for over 22 years. I began as an investigator of fair housing discrimination complaints and civil rights law compliance. From there I transitioned into financial and operational roles as a multifamily underwriter, and an asset manager with a large portfolio of affordable and market rate properties. In my latest role in asset management, I assess risk, collaborate with properties to optimize performance, manage stakeholder relationships and work on a specialized team to preserve affordable housing. I also have the pleasure of leading a team that provides training to our stakeholders. I’m lucky to work with a group of people who are just as passionate about their jobs as I am. I have two kids that are ready to launch and a dog and cat who are a constant source of entertainment. I’m excited for this opportunity to participate in the Women in Leadership Advisory Board. I look forward to learning from my fellow Advisory Board members, the faculty and students and supporting women in their career growth. |
