Director of Education Solutions - Career and College Readiness

Sourcewell

Dr. Maggie Velasco is an education leader dedicated to advancing equity and transforming rural education through career-connected learning and Career and Technical Education. As the Director of Career and College Readiness at Sourcewell, a MN education service agency, she leads initiatives that build student-centered, data-driven career pathways rooted in access, opportunity, and real-world relevance.

Her work centers on elevating student and caregiver voice, strengthening community and industry partnerships, and reimagining readiness from PreK through graduation to ensure every learner graduate employment, enlistment, or enrollment ready. A passionate advocate for inclusive high-quality Career and Technical Education, Dr. Velasco believes in the power of professional development to drive systemic change.

Her approach emphasizes collaboration, responsiveness, and transformational leadership—helping educators and leaders design equitable systems where all students have agency, a voice, and thrive. In addition to her regional leadership role, she serves as adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas (Minneapolis, Minnesota), teaching in the Learning Technology Leadership and Innovation graduate certificate program.
